Apparently you need to add it as a contact to use the blocked number option because if you actually recieve a blocked number calling, you can't add then as a contact! Am I missing something here? I've got those Windows PC scam artists calling constantly because I called them out as scammers and a few other choice words...so they're harassing me...help!

If you go into your youmail on the website, you can set this to not let the caller leave a message... then set blocked, unknown, private, etc,... to ditched callers, and they can't leave a message, and your phone answers and hangs up before it rings.

I didn't set up Blocked calls, but it's now blocking ALL callers. My friends are getting offended... how can I turn this OFF...PLEASE HELP
you have to set call forwarding up on your phone before it will play any of the youmail greetings.

You can make this message play only when blocked callers are calling and on your phone it also gives you the option to be able to leave a message it just hang up after its done playing! This apps pretty kool! I think people just need to better educate themselves before they start complaining!
What is the point of the greeting that this person doesn't except blocked numbers if the damn thing let's the phone ring and they are able to leave a voicemail. If the person calling is smart they'll hear the beep to leave a voicemail and continue to call

OMG, top notch! This, plus a Forward to voicemail call blocker does just the trick! I was looking for a call blocker app that would forward unwanted calls to a tritone msg, but they were proving difficult, if not impossible to find. This simple combo of call blocker and youmail does exactly what I was seeking in the first place!

Oh yea... with Mr. Number.. your phone won't even ring for unknown numbers... you just get a quick alert that a number was blocked.
I recommend the Mr Number-call block app for blocking unknown numbers. You can set it to send all unknown numbers (aka not in your contacts) striaght to youmail... where you can also set the unknown/ditchmail as your default for non-contacts.

Hi all im new to you mail and love this message i have set it up for blocked numbers that keep calling me at all times of the night. Is there way to set up my phone to where it goes straight to this message with out ringing? or maybe just rings once and goes to this message? if anybody knows that would be great!
I use this one on my Asterisk system and Phone Tray. Only I've added sit tones otherwiswe without the sit tones, automated robodialers won't stop filling up my missed/incoming lsists. It plays for: Private, Out of Area, and 0000000000 calls. All other blocked callers receive standard disconnect message.
I LUV IT!! Now all the nosey girlfriends of my friends can quit calling my phone private trying to figure out who's cell number it is... hahahhaha

A lot of phones have programs that block numbers from even ringing on your phone. That, plus this recording is a gem!
To Anonymousone who posted on 8/9/09. I had the same thing happen. What I do is answer the call and quickly hang up. They want to be able to leave a message and this stops them from doing so. It only took a day or two for the stalker to stop calling. I call it the Send-End Approach...
I know T-mobile have on their phone book block lists and it works wonders! Even, if he is calling block it would reject UNKNOWN NUMBERS! Good luck!
I have had over 500 unknown calls from my ex husband and I have the message on my phone that says that I don't accept calls from blocked numbers and he still calls. They need to figure out a way that ditches the call/caller totally so that a persons phone does not ring. I can't conduct business because every minute of the day he is calling....Please help.

To set it for Blocked and Unknown Callers, go to GREETINGS in your voice mail account, then go to SET BLOCKED on the left side of and choose your greeting that will play when Unknown or Blocked Callers call your phone.

this is great. I had a Romanian stalker & it really sucked. the guy waited outside every evening & tried to phone from 3 diff fone numbers. i blocked all three using this answering message & he got so frustrated after calling 20 times in a row, he just gave up
